The Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) course provides a comprehensive study of female reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic disorders. The course integrates theoretical knowledge from anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and microbiology with practical skills in antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care, enabling students to manage both routine and emergency conditions effectively.
Students are trained to assess maternal and fetal well-being, reproductive health, and gynecologic disorders, while developing expertise in high-risk pregnancy management, labor and delivery, gynecologic surgery, family planning, and preventive care. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, patient counseling, ethical considerations, and professional communication with women and families.
The course combines lectures, clinical rotations, case discussions, hands-on procedures, labor room exposure, and operative observations, providing a solid foundation for hospital-based and community obstetric and gynecologic care.
